Hold on tight to your dream
Hold on tight to your dream
When you see your ship go sailing
When you feel your heart is breaking
Hold tight to your dream.
(Electric Light Orchestra. "Hold On Tight." Time. Columbia Records, 1981)
I've been cleaning up the house.
It made it easier to tackle the whole upstairs living area instead of just picking out Katido's things. By the time I was done, I'd rounded up all her things (it is amazing the places you find toy mice!) and stored them in the garage loft. All the recycling taken out. I made about $40 returning soda cans, beer bottles and milk jugs to the store. The kitchen got cleaned and, along with the living room and dining room, mopped.
Next, I tured my attention to the guest computer in the basement. Simple re-install of Linux followed by installing Flash and Java. I kinda miss the days of Linux being a pain in the arse to get working. No, wait. No I don't.
I then turned my attention to my own computer. I have spare parts all over the place, and found a newer mother board in my collection. Like my current board, it has on-board RAID. Unlike my current board, enabeling it won't smeg up the IDE drives. It can also take more then 4gigs of RAM
I took to to cleaning up the hard drive for the migration (Interesting note: shooting things to your file server over gig ethernet is WAY faster than to an external USB drive!) and found a video I made back in April of 2008. I am beyond being embarrassed about doing stuff like this (Face it, I collect PEZ dispensers and Legos) and feel I should inflict it on share it with the world.
Here's the National Coffee Association's Join the Coffee Achiverers Ad (with Jane Curtin) comercial with clips from the first Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou OAV.
Interesting (if not embarassing) note: These comercials made me think David Bowie did the song "Hold On Tight" because clips from The Serious Moonlight Tour were featured in some of the comercials.
